Privacy Policy

Overview

Taber Man (https://www.taber-man.com) is a tab and workspace manager that helps you save, organize, search, and reopen browser tabs. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By creating an account or using the service, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Taber Man.

Information we collect

Account information

• Email address (required for sign-in via password or magic link)
• Optional display name if you provide one at signup
• Authentication session data stored in cookies or browser storage

Content you save

When you use the app or extension, we store the data you choose to save, including:

• Workspaces, folders, collections, and their names, descriptions, and order
• Links: URL, title, note, domain, favicon URL, and sort order
• Tags and link-tag associations
• Window session snapshots (tab URLs, titles, and favicons captured from the extension)
• Workspace thumbnail images you upload (resized and stored as WebP)

Browser extension

If you pair the Chrome extension with your account, we also process:

• A temporary pairing code you generate in Settings (expires in about 15 minutes)
• A secure extension token stored locally in the extension after pairing
• An optional device name you provide when pairing
• Tab or window data you explicitly choose to save (URL, title, favicon)

The extension can open multiple browser tabs when you use Open all on a collection page. That action only runs when you click it.

Technical and security data

• IP address and request metadata used for rate limiting and abuse prevention
• Server logs from our hosting provider (Vercel) for reliability and security

We do not use third-party advertising trackers or sell your personal information.

How we use information

• Provide, maintain, and improve the service
• Authenticate you and keep your account secure
• Sync data between the web app and paired extension
• Fetch public page titles and favicons for URLs you save (server-side metadata lookup)
• Send authentication emails (magic links, signup confirmation) through our auth provider
• Prevent abuse through rate limits
• Respond to support requests

Service providers

We use trusted providers to run Taber Man:

• Supabase — database, authentication, file storage (workspace thumbnails), and transactional email delivery
• Vercel — application hosting
• Upstash (optional) — Redis-based rate limiting when configured
• Google — favicon lookup service for link previews (we send a domain/URL, not your account data)

These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms and only as needed to operate the service.

Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in (Supabase auth session) and to remember redirect preferences after login. The extension stores your pairing token in Chrome extension storage on your device.

Data retention

We retain your account and saved content until you delete it or close your account. Pairing codes expire automatically. Extension tokens remain valid until you unpair the device or delete the device record from your account.

Your choices and rights

• Access and export: Use Export JSON in the app sidebar to download your workspaces, collections, and links.
• Correction: Edit or delete your saved content directly in the app.
• Extension: Unpair from the extension popup or stop using the extension at any time.
• Account deletion: Email support@taber-man.com to request account and data deletion. We will verify your request and delete associated data within a reasonable time, subject to legal retention requirements.

Children

Taber Man is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International users

Your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the service, you consent to that processing.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
